Icebound Citadel, also known as the Marauder Fortress, is a combat racing track used in the Kras City Grand Championship during Jak X: Combat Racing. The setting is a seemingly abandoned citadel, formerly belonging to Marauders and a portion of the frozen land outside. It is a large keep, fortified with multiple tall towers and walls lining the background, with spikes placed haphazardly on top. The roads inside the more habitable areas are wide and spacious, serving more to emphasize the emptiness of the citadel. It is one of the few tracks to feature giant snowballs that pose a threat to racers.

Note that Keira's second training session at the beginning of the game takes place on only the middle half of this track, but without the falling snow boulders.

Description[edit | edit source]

Immediately after the start one can enter a hidden shortcut, entered by driving through the gap in the wall on the left, followed by boosting to cross the icicle-filled gap below. The path merges shortly afterwards, and not taking the shortcut will lead you into a slightly tricky turn that forces you to suddenly drive sharply to the right, followed straight afterward with a turn to the left. After the merge, the track enters a curving mountain pass with massive snow boulders barreling through it. It is recommended to destroy them if dodging is unfeasible.

Eventually the race re-enters the city as signs of civilization appear. [a] Be careful of edges and bits of buildings and walls jutting out. After driving through a large gate and crossing a bridge, the road will start slanting sharply. This large curved corner has an inner and an outer ring, made obvious with support pillars placed intermittently in the center of the road, though neither is really better than the other. After this area, the course makes a wide left turn. [b]

The remainder of the track is mostly clear straightaways and some curving turns here and there, eventually reaching the finishing line.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  1. The Timberline Track is visible on the right but blocked with a barrier.
  2. The same as a is true here too.
