The spiny toad hound is an enemy in Jak 3. It is a toad-like creature only found in the Great Volcano during the mission "Find satellite in volcano".
Characteristics
Spiny toad hounds have a light belly with orange colored sides and a more red-brown back with stripes. They have a short little stubby tail and a small snout. Their most significant feature are their large brown spikes on their backs.
Combat
The toad hound attacks by curling into a ball and rolling into you. They are a nuisance since vegetation in their habitat tends to obscure them from view, plus they will nearly always attack in big groups. The Wave Concussor is the best weapon of choice as when fully charged its shot can take out an entire field of toad hounds in one go. The Scatter Gun and Beam Reflexor also work, though not as best.
